CottagePM.com is now live! I’ve stolen enough hours over the holiday to complete the basics for the site.

CottagePM.com is my place to explore what I’ve begun to call “Cottage Project Management.”  I talk about what that means on the “About” page. I hope that you find that interesting.

Now, in true blog fashion, I’ll begin to develop that idea further. On the way, I’ll post about various PM skills and topics, current reading, etc., always from the angle of Cottage PM.

I hope that you’ll find that useful. It has already been a useful idea in my organization, and I believe that it will be so in many organizations.

I also enjoy exploring ideas with other project managers. In addition to commenting on posts, I invite you to email me or ping me on Twitter.

  • Hi there, stumbled across your new blog via Twitter, wanted to say welcome to the blogging world and also #pmot on Twitter. I’m looking forward to reading your blog, there are so many organisations out there which match your description of “cottage project management” (probably more than people realise!)

Good luck and best wishes from the Camel

Hi Lindsay – I’m so pleased that you found me! I’m enjoying the exploration, hoping I can bring something of value. I am still surprised at how difficult it was to as a new PM student to “translate” the book learning to the non-PMO environment. We do a great disservice in our practice if all our conversation and teaching is only about big project in big org with big PMO-type support. As Paul Harvey may say, there is a “rest of the story.”

Looking forward to visiting with you again here!
